Reports indicate that fan-favorite actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
Lawrence and Hutcherson will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. It is believed their appearance will take the form of a flash-forward sequence, given that the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.

Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a recent book by series creator Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who was behind nearly all the previous films in the series.
The film's narrative are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the deadly 50th Hunger Games.
