A jet ferrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed following standard protocol and all passengers, such as Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident does not mark the initial instance that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has encountered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to turn back to Washington DC after encountering a technical issue.
