Jude Bellingham Needs to Eliminate the Petulance to Secure a Star Role With Tuchel.

For Bellingham to aims to force his way back into the English strongest team, he would be wise to eliminate the nonsense. His reaction when he saw that the substitute board was about to come up following a night of uneven play in the match against Albania was unacceptable.

"I don’t want to make more out of it but I stand by my words 'conduct is crucial' and respect for the squad members who come in," Tuchel said. "Choices are taken and you need to comply as a player."

The midfielder must understand. There was no call for an outburst. Harry Kane had recently scored to make England two goals ahead in a meaningless match, there were six minutes left and Bellingham, following an inconsistent display, received a caution for bringing down Armando Broja. It was not a questionable change. Indeed it might have been reckless for the head coach to keep Bellingham on the pitch considering there was a chance Bellingham would make himself ineligible of the first match of the World Cup by getting a another booking.

Essentially his place has been in question and he hasn't helped his case by reacting to coming off the pitch as the national team wrapped up a perfect qualifying campaign by seeing off a feisty challenge from their opponents.

In the end the squad's strength proved crucial. The coach brought on Foden, who appeared more comfortable to the spot occupied by Bellingham earlier in the match, and Saka. Later Saka whipped in a corner for the captain to score the first goal. It was a reminder that set pieces will be crucial at the World Cup.

However, Bellingham was the story. The excellence of Rashford's cross for Kane’s header was somewhat overlooked amid the drama of the player change. At the end, the focus was on the midfielder. Tuchel came over behind him and guided the Real Madrid midfielder in the direction of the English fans. The bond between them remains intact. Tuchel hasn't decided to give up on the player just yet. However, whether he is willing to grant him the central position is not guaranteed.
