Rob Edwards and O'Neil Among Wolves Head Coach Contenders

Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early candidates in the frame to succeed the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

The previous coach was sacked on Sunday following the squad's ten-game without a victory beginning to the Premier League season.

And both candidates - both of who have historic associations to the team - are part of the names to be evaluated by the club ownership.

Edwards is presently at Middlesbrough, which would create a potential hurdle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton head coach - who played over a century of appearances for Wolves during his time as a player - is considered a strong candidate for the position.

The 42-year-old is said to have backing from the club board as they begin the search of appointing a new head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a unexpected contender, although he would be a surprising appointment considering he was sacked by Wolves in December last year.

The ex- West Ham midfielder is currently unemployed meaning Wolves would not be required to pay any buyout fee.
