The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets have started writing regarding Sony's platform as a new development. Last year proved to be complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that the green gaming company continues to plan to engage players with quality releases on its flagship service.

The Available Now Titles

The two games that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of terror and combat."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Robust Selection of Games

Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription alone. However, this batch of games are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — which makes them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
